Overview

This position is responsible for strategic and operational leadership of the company’s enterprise application systems. This responsibility includes design, development, support, and maintenance. The director will work closely with senior leadership, internal IT leadership, and representatives of company to develop and execute the company’s technology plans. The position provides site management with analysis and recommendations to improve and expand applications, system integration and application performance.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, assigns and directs the activities of professional and technical personnel involved in the design, development and systems analysis functions required to create new computer applications programs or install and implement software purchased from outside vendors.
  • Reviews and analyzes existing applications programs and programs in development to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of those programs.
  • Conducts meetings with company management and employees to determine information technology requirements based on new project priorities, changes in regulations and system needs.
  • Reviews performance of applications programs to ensure program efficiency, program documentation, and to ensure that system results meets the needs of the company.
  • Serve as liaison between functional users and technical support staff.
  • Ensure the implementation and oversee change management process for application development and updates.
  • Coordinate process and timing of regular upgrades, applications of program fixes, etc, for existing programs, and integrate with on-going projects
  • Design project teams and strategies to coordinate efforts of people from appropriate company departments, outside consultants, vendors, and other ‘user’ groups in meeting the company’s goals for use of information technology systems.
  • Develop needs analyses of potential projects, identify potential solutions and vendors, create requests for proposals, coordinate evaluation of proposals, and facilitate decisions.
  • Prepare project scope and develop project plans, including project tasks, resource allocation, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Design and carry out implementation process. Anticipate problems and resolve issues where conflicting needs and solutions surface.
  • Revise plans and process as needed to respond to unanticipated problems, and minimize negative consequences to priority needs.
  • Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent training and experience is required.
  • At least five years’ equivalent work experience in a technical analytical position responsible for managing server environments
  • Project management skills a definite asset.
  • Strong understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Highly self motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

 

Technical Requirements:

  • Certification in Project Management
  • Casino gaming and/or hospitality background or experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of New Jersey rules and regulations.
  • Strong strategic planning capabilities (approaches and processes tools deliverables) as well as experience with architecture frameworks such as CoBIT, and ITIL.
  • Previous experience with gaming and HRM related technologies, standards, and processes is required.
  • Strong management and leadership skills including coaching consensus building and ability to effectively manage resources to address competing priorities.
